Hola y Bienvenidos.
My name is Conner Ayers and I am teaching Spanish 2 this year at NWCHS. This will be my 5th year at New West and my 8th year teaching overall.
I grew up in the city of Indianapolis where I attended elementary, middle and high school. I went on to study Spanish and Education at Indiana University which is in the great college town of Bloomington. Go Hoosiers!
I spent my last semester at IU student teaching at a high school in the Chicago Public Schools. I truly enjoyed the experience and it solidified my desire to be a teacher.
I moved to Los Angeles in the summer of 2013 with an organization called Teach For America. I spent 2 years teaching at a middle school in Koreatown and 1 year teaching at a high school in Watts in South Los Angeles. During this time, I completed my Masters Degree at Loyola Marymount University. Go Lions! I just completed my doctorate at USC. Fight On!!!
Last year was my fourth year at New West. I really enjoy working with the students and staff here and I am looking forward to another great year.
In my free time I enjoy running, eating at new restaurants, and watching the Colts, Pacers, and IU basketball on tv.
